Prototyping for Leading Edge Researcher
A professor sought out a company that had actuator technology expertise and prototyping capability. He was interested in developing a transducer to test in his laboratory. Due to Actuated Medical's internal capability of prototyping equipment and fast turnaround, we were selected.
Actuated Medical engaged in conversations with the professor related to his needs and goals. We wanted to understand the problem completely and to develop a sound strategy. We opted to design the transducer using COMSOL and then to generate a 3D model in SolidWorks. With our real-world expertise in active materials and devices, we optimized our virtual models to reflect our customer's unique environmental requirements.
The components of the transducer were machined, assembled, and inspected. We delivered to the professor a completed, fully-functional transducer in less than two weeks.
