BELLEFONTE, Pa. – April 16, 2020 – PRLog — Soon after face shields went into to production at Actuated Medical, Inc. (AMI) donors placed orders for their local organizations. Donations were made to the Navajo Nation, a Native American tribe in the state of Oregon, Huntsville Alabama Volunteer Fire Department (VFD), a Lancaster PA Nursing home and Bellefonte Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
Bellefonte EMS purchased 20 shields, and another 20 were donated. “These face shields will help protect our EMT’s on emergency incidents while providing treatment to our patients,” Bellefonte EMS wrote in a Facebook comment. “We always try to support our local businesses before buying elsewhere. During this COVID crisis, we are finding shortages of the needed personal protective equipment (PPE) for our EMT’s. Thank you to everyone at Actuated Medical for switching production to start making these items.”
“We’re inspired by all of the people who want to give back to their local communities in short supply of PPE,” said Maureen L. Mulvihill, PhD, president & CEO of AMI. “They purchased our Face Shields to donate to organizations in need, and we’re honored to be able to help them make a difference.”
On April 10, AMI published an online store where the face shields can be purchased in small quantities. The store includes instructions for donating to other organizations. Bulk orders can be placed by emailing faceshield@actuatedmedical.com or by calling (814) 355-0003 ext. 117.
