Local Entrepreneur is Nominated Again for Ernst & Young Award!

STATE COLLEGE, PA – For the second year in a row, Maureen L. Mulvihill, President and CEO of Piezo Resonance Innovations (PRII), a Bellefonte-based medical device company, has been named as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® 2011 Upstate New York, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia Awards. The winners will be announced June 10, 2011.

Dr. Mulvihill was also a 2011 Enterprising Women of the Year Finalist. In addition, she has been recognized as One of the Top 100 Business People in Central Pennsylvania by the PA Business Central in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Piezo Resonance Innovations was named as one of the Top 100 Organizations of 2010 by the Pennsylvania Business Central.

Dr. Mulvihill has been invited to attend an awards banquet where the winners will be announced on Friday, June 10, 2010 at the Westin Convention Center Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Mulvihill’s company, Piezo Resonance Innovations develops and manufactures advanced medical devices by integrating controlled motion technologies – using a blend of commercial, federal, and state research funds to take products to market. Interactions with clinicians during development ensure that PRII devices solve critical medical needs. PRII’s first suite of devices are moving towards FDA clearance, clinical trials and manufacturing in June 2011. PRII has grown continuously in revenue and staff since incorporation supporting research and long-term manufacturing jobs.
